PS5 Fans Are Panicking Over Backwards Compatibility

ps5-fans-are-panicking-over-backwards-compatibility

@thefirst “Yes but from a business standpoint, where do you draw the line? How many people actually want the PS5 to play PS1/PS2/PS3 games?”

That’s a good point, and Sony has expressed in the past that they have data mined the use of BC (I guess in the PS3) and its a very underused feature.

Historically, Nintendo supports the previous console gen so long they dont change format.

-Wii U ran Wii games.
-Wii ran GC games.
-GameBoy Advance ran Gameboy Games.
-Nintendo DS ran GameBoy Advance games, but not GameBoy or GB Color games.

If possible, it tends to be critical not to tell consumers that a new gen is a complete end to the live of their current gen library.
